Scavenger hunt journeys
Scavenger Hunt Transport in Derby
A scavenger hunt can bring friends, families or colleagues together around a series of clues and planned stops. Derby Limos accepts transport enquiries for these events throughout Derby and Derbyshire, with the route, vehicle and arrangements assessed for the individual booking.
Describe the event you are organising, the participants and the places you want to visit. Transport between stops is different from a fully organised activity package. Clue writing, facilitation, venue permissions and equipment should be allocated explicitly rather than assumed to come with a vehicle.
Build the transport around your event plan
Begin with a practical route and an agreed start and finish. Our chauffeur service can be considered for journeys between suitable stops; corporate transport may be relevant for a staff event.
Give each stop a realistic arrival window and time for participants to leave the vehicle, complete the activity and return. Check that stopping is permitted and that the proposed vehicle can reach or turn near the meeting point. The schedule should support the activity without rewarding faster driving.
- Chauffeur or limousine journeys between stops
- Specialist vehicle requests to assess individually
Assign an organiser to manage the clues, participants and permissions. Before asking for transport, prepare the following basics and identify anything you would like us to assess separately:
- Prepare age-appropriate clues and a route that the organiser has checked.
- Confirm permission and suitable stopping arrangements at each location.
- List any activity materials, bags or equipment that need transport.
- Agree supervision, participant contacts and a clear finish point.
Specialist and themed vehicle enquiries
If you are interested in a themed or unusual vehicle, explain the idea and how it would be used. Specialist requests, including a fire-engine-style vehicle, require separate confirmation of actual availability, suitability and permitted use. We do not promise an operational emergency vehicle, emergency-service personnel or use of sirens or blue lights.
For a visual theme or a photographed event, our film and production vehicle enquiries provide another starting point. Share the date, location, access and proposed activity so the requirement can be assessed.
Keep game activities at appropriate planned stops. The driver needs to concentrate on the road, and passengers should remain seated appropriately during travel. Do not build clues around distracting the driver, leaning out of a vehicle or entering restricted property.
For children taking part, specify ages, accompanying adults, child-seat requirements and handover arrangements. An organiser or responsible adult should supervise the activity; transport provision does not automatically include childcare, event leaders or entertainers.

Limousine travel between planned stops
A limousine can form part of a shared journey between stops where the route and access are suitable. Explore our limousine collection, then confirm the actual vehicle, seating, luggage and any equipment you need to carry. A photograph does not establish capacity or available features.
If the group is split between vehicles, describe the allocation and whether everyone needs to arrive together. Do not assume several vehicles can stop in the same place at once. Include waiting and the final journey home in the request.
Use this outline to connect the transport plan with the event you are organising:
- Confirm the vehicle and actual passenger capacity.
- Allocate participants to groups and vehicles before departure.
- Keep the clue and activity plan with the event organiser.
- Agree collection, start, finish and return times.
- Allow realistic travel and waiting time between permitted stops.
- Choose a suitable meeting place to finish the activity together.
Keep one contact person available for the driver and participants. If a stop becomes unavailable or the event runs late, discuss the change before relying on a revised route or collection time.
Classic car and self-drive considerations
A classic-car theme may appeal to your group, but each proposed vehicle and hire method needs confirmation. Tell us whether you want chauffeured travel, a static display or a self-drive enquiry. Those arrangements have different suitability checks and should not be treated as interchangeable.
For self-drive hire, driver eligibility, documentation, insurance, deposits, mileage and vehicle use must be agreed before booking. A group event does not entitle every participant to drive or swap cars. Any approved drivers and the intended activity must be established individually.
Our Derbyshire area guides can help with local journey planning. Choose locations because they work for the activity and vehicle access, rather than adding distant stops simply to lengthen the route.
Agree what the event and transport include
Use the checklist below to allocate responsibilities between the organiser, venues and the confirmed transport arrangements. These are points to agree, not a list of automatic package inclusions.

Check the proposed vehicle, route, waiting, inclusions and applicable booking terms before accepting. Specific specialist vehicles, event support and equipment remain subject to separate confirmation.
